The Raconteurs "Consolers of the Lonely" out Tuesday 3/25 Vinyl, CD, Download

The Raconteurs surprised even their biggest fans on Monday with the news that a new record has been completed and will be in all types of stores this Tuesday 3/25/08.
Vinyl HQ was lucky enough to lead the vinyl charge and the package coming out is awesome.
180 Gram, 2 disc in a beautiful tri-fold sleeve. Stunning art with inserts and the actual labels are fantastic, this is one sweet package!
List Price 29.98.
I can't speak to the music, that is for you to decide on Tuesday but as for the process, well that was as close to making vinyl in the 50s as possible.

Check it out, Jack turns up a couple weeks ago with the 1" masters and wants it out asap. That same night the studio cats at the WBR Studios stay up all night literally "old school", hand splicing all the intros and outros exactly the way the band wanted it. All by hand on a 1" machine we had to rent. A few hours later that same machine was in a truck headed up to Camarillo to AcousTech Mastering where Kevin Gray was standing by to cut, obviously from the 1"masters. As usual he did a wonderful job getting the music on those tapes ultimately onto the grooves!!! No compression added at all... wait til you hear this vinyl. Stunning sound all the way around.

In fact The Raconteurs themselves stated in their press release that the audience can choose any format they want to buy on Tuesday, but they prefer people hear "Consolers of the Lonely" on vinyl!!! Tuesday can't get here fast enough.
Rock On...

Check back for a special pre order of the record in the next 24 hours.
