Music
1. Van Morrison - Saint Dominic's Preview
2. James Taylor - Sweet Baby James
3. Paul Simon - Graceland
4. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks, Tupelo Honey
What I wan't (need) on 180g vinyl
I would really like to have this 180g vinyl,
Jennifer Warnes "Hunter".
Best Regards.
Michael
Phish
The only two albums released by the Elektra (division of WB I believe) label are Farmhouse and Story of the Ghost, both out of print and getting high bids on ebay. Junta and Lawn Boy were released by different labels and get even more money on ebay. I would love to see everything released on vinyl, but my first two choices would be:
Phish: Billy Breathes
Phish: A Live One
Where For Art Thou HIGH RESOLUTION CONTENT
Look, the vinyl content being released is very impressive and very nice for those vinyl junkies of the world but where is the NEW high resolution audio contant on DVD-Audio? I must admit some personal frustration seeing these great titles being released, but only on vinyl is driving me crazy.
How about a little balance in releases for those of us interested in high res optical media?

Vinyl reissues
Would love to see the following appear on vinyl.
The Rentals Return Of The Rentals
Hard Meat S/T
Hard Meat Through A Window
Perhaps even a liscensing deal with Burke Shelley of Budgie to reissue at the very least the following.
Budgie S/T
Budgie Squawk
Kenny Young's Last Stage for Silverworld
I think a lot of people would be blown away to hear this upgraded/remastered. Ziggy Stardust meets War of The Worlds. Great sonics.
Another vote for..
Black Sabbath catalogue
Deep Purple catalogue
ZZ Top - Eliminator
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
I think these are the high-priority ones that should be done first.
These titles + Steve and Kevin + 180g vinyl = Big $$$ for Warner Brothers.
Vinyl Reissues
Please, please refrain from adding the DREADED bonus tracks to your new vinyl releases. When an artist releases an album it is usually a well thought out work of art. In my opinion the addition of the so called bonus tracks severely detracts from the overall completeness of the work. The worst was when Mobile Fidelity re-released John Lennon's Primal Scream Therapy fueled classic "Plastic Ono Band" they added two bonus tracks that completely ruined the record.
Please let the artist's original statement stand! NO BONUS TRACKS! Please.
I would agree in most cases
I would agree in most cases but certain albums could benefit from this. In all cases the bonus tracks should be on the b side or on a seperate piece of vinyl preferably - never in the flow of the original album. I was quite happy with the bonus song on the Built to Spill's Perfect from now on. When I speak of bonus tracks I am mostly speaking of including only the most solid of EPs as an extra piece of vinyl. For example The Cure's Disintegration - including the b sides from the Lovesong, Facination Street would be a good idea - and at the very least making the album the full 12 track version as it was intended. I don't think adding a bonus vinyl of only the great b side material is a bad idea. The cure is probably one of the best bands to do this for. Again this should only be for certain releases with good enough material.
Please have Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray master these LPs!!!

Re-issue suggestions
Live-Throwing Copper
Metallica-Kill'em All through Justice
Black Crowes-All titles
Rush-2112, Moving Pictures
Pink Floyd-The Wall
I could do this for hours, but these are my most important ones to see re-issued.
But They Have To Be Warner, Etc
Half of those titles are not even under Warner control; choose more carefully.
Tim believes in high resolution surround music
Soul Coughing - Ruby Vroom
Great first album!
some suggestions for reissue
Fleetwood Mac: Then Play On & Kiln House
Association Greatest Hits
When it comes to the Association Greatest Hits, the best way to reissue it due to sound quality is not use the CSG LP master used on the CD of this exact compilation issued in the 1980s but go through the original album masters which were used on the Collectors' Choice CD reissues and the Pair Songs That Made Them Famous compilation comprising of their And Then...Along Comes The Association and Insight Out albums, and in fact, these 2 albums contain a huge majority of their hits so a reissue of the Songs That Made Them Famous compilation in 180g vinyl with a bonus disc to fill gaps of hits not included on those 2 albums woud be the ticket.
My Bloody Valentine
My Bloody Valentine's LOVELESS with the Tremolo EP and the Glider EP in a 2 LP set
this would probably be the greatest reissue ever to happen only beaten by a 12 track The Cure - Disintegration reissue
to narrow down my list to a top 5
1. Flaming Lips - Transmissions From The Satellite Heart
2. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless w/ Glider and Tremelo EPs
3. The Cure - Disintegration (12 Tracks w/ possbile b sides)
4. The Flaming Lips - Hit To The Death In The Future Head
5. Talking Heads - Fear of Music
okay
I'm done
stuff i can think of right now
[to my knowledge, these were never given U.S. vinyl issues]
- Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
- Collective Soul - Hints, Allegations, And Things Left Unsaid
- Deftones - Adrenaline
- Deftones - Around The Fur
- Faith No More - Album Of The Year
- Remy Zero - The Golden Hum
- Third Eye Blind - Out Of The Vein
All Things Must Pass
Obviously this is on another label AND there are some huge issues re: release rights, but ALL THINGS MUST PASS needs to be re-released on vinyl using the original master tapes.
Another kick at the can for the Dylan mono albums might be nice too - Get Steve and Kevin on the job!!!
Ween!
Would love to see Ween's 12 Golden Country Greats as well.
More SH/KG lp titles
The Association - The Associations Greatest Hits
The Cure - Disintegration (Disintegration is the best album ever!)
Any, or all Smiths, please.
Morrissey - Viva Hate, Your Arsenal, Vauxhall and I, Southpaw Grammar.
Any Kinks titles, as well. Something Else, Village Green and Arthur would be incredible.
Disintegration, indeed.
Even better, it would be nice to see this expanded to a 2LP set so that we can get the 2 tracks that were left off the original pressing, and perhaps some of the b-sides as well.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!
please make this a reality
b sides
could compile the unreleased b sides from the era on the b side of the 2nd lp
would be a great idea for other cure releases as well. No live tracks or any of that b.s. - just unreleased b sides.
if there is one band that would really benefit from the Sonic Youth like vinyl reissues, it would be The Cure
180 gram vinyl Green Day -
180 gram vinyl
Green Day - Dookie
Green Day - Insomniac
Green Day - Nimrod
Green Day - Warning
Green Day - International Superhits
Green Day - Shenanigans
Green Day - 39/Smooth + the 1,000 Hours and Slappy EPs (since Reprise now has the rights to GD's Lookout catalog)
Green Day - Kerplunk (since Reprise now has the rights to GD's Lookout catalog)
Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac
ALL mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray if possible. There are others but I'll stop there for now.
Thanks for asking!
I'll add these to the list:
Gorecki - Symphony no. 3 (Dawn Upshaw version on Elektra/Nonesuch)
Chris Isaak - Baja Sessions, Forever Blue, San Francisco Days
Everything But The Girl - Amplified Heart
Frank Sinatra - Reprise: The Very Good Years
Old 97's - Too Far to Care
Brian Setzer Orchestra - S/T (Hollywood Records, originally distributed by Elektra)
Cure - Disintegration
Neil Young - Unplugged
Replacements - All Shook Down (Sire)
Counting Crows - August and Everything After (Sire)
...and another vote for Kiko and Astral Weeks.
My two cents or so
Sticking to Warner/Reprise for the time being, with my focus on those albums never released on vinyl, at least not in the United States:
Barenaked Ladies: Disc One/All Their Greatest Hits [no previous US vinyl]
Eric Clapton: Unplugged [no previous US vinyl]
Eric Clapton: From the Cradle [no previous US vinyl]
Alice Cooper: Love It to Death [with the original thumb-as-phallus cover restored]
Alice Cooper: Billion Dollar Babies
Enya: Watermark
Enya: Paint the Sky with Stars/The Best of Enya [no previous US vinyl]
Fleetwood Mac: Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac: Tusk
Fleetwood Mac: The Dance [no previous US vinyl]
Fleetwood Mac: Say You Will [no previous US vinyl]
Green Day: Nimrod [no previous US vinyl]
Green Day: International Superhits [no previous US vinyl]
Ben Keith & Friends: Seven Gates [no previous US vinyl; a great "lost" Christmas album from 1994 with guest appearances by Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Nicolette Larson and J.J. Cale]
The Kinks: The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society
Madonna: Erotica [no previous US vinyl except as a promo]
Madonna: Bedtime Stories [no previous US vinyl except as a promo]
Madonna: Ray of Light [no previous US vinyl except as a promo]
Madonna: Music [no previous US vinyl except as a promo]
Madonna: American Life [no previous US vinyl]
Alanis Morissette: Jagged Little Pill [no previous US vinyl]
Prince: Diamonds and Pearls [no previous US vinyl]
Prince: (the symbol album) [no previous US vinyl]
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magik [no previous US vinyl except as a censored promo]
Paul Simon: Hearts and Bones
Paul Simon: Graceland
Van Halen: For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge [no previous US vinyl except as a record-club item]
Dwight Yoakam: This Time [no previous US vinyl]
And as a box set, though it might be seen as really esoteric, I'd love to see a reissue of the four musicals done by "The Reprise Repertory Theatre" in 1963.
Good suggestions here.
I don't think Doobie Brothers-What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits has ever been remastered. A 180 gram vinyl edition would be great.
Dan Updike, Buffalo
albums I'd like to see on vinyl again
Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
Depeche Mode - Violator
Deftones - White Pony
Wilco - Summerteeth
Green Day - Dookie
Metallica - Kill 'em All through And Justice for All
Deftones
I have White Pony on vinyl, and it sounds great! I dont listen to it a great deal (its not really my type of music) but its one of the better sounding new heavy lp's that I own.
depeche mode - violator has
depeche mode - violator has been reissued recently and you can still find new copies of yoshimi

John Prine's Warner controlled catalog
anything by Prine controlled by Warner is worthwhile for this project.
Albums I'd like to see released on 180g vinyl
Hi there. Here's my list of LPs I dream of listening to in Hoffman/Gray mastered form, in order of importance (most to least):
Dire Straits - Love Over Gold
Dire Straits - S/T
Fleetwood Mac - S/T (any Buckingham era Fleetwood Mac would be appreciated though)
Lindsey Buckingham - Out of the Cradle
ZZ Top - Eliminator
Tom Petty - Wildflowers
Neil Young - Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
Neil Young - After the Goldrush
Lindsey Buckingham - Go Insane
Lindsey Buckingham - Law and Order
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Honorable mentions, that I know probably can't happen:
Hoffman/Gray of the Doors' Soft Parade and Morrision Hotel.
P.S. Thanks for asking for suggestions!
Vinyl
Del - I Wish My Brother George Was Here w/instrumentals!
Del - No Need For Alarm w/instrumentals!
Rhino/Elektra owns this so you should be able to do it. Make it happen please!
Teddy Long
ALBUMS I'D LIKE TO SEE RELEASED ARE:
HEAD AUTOMATICA-DECADENCE • GLASSJAW-WARSHIP & TRIBUTE • GLASSJAW-EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SILENCE
The Flaming Lips- The Soft
The Flaming Lips- The Soft Bulletin
Seriously, I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to get this.
PS: Please no 180g vinyl. Its crap.
Reissue
Led Zeppelin Bombay Orchestra Sessions, the bootlegs are out there how about an official release
Hoffman/Gray remasters of WB titles on vinyl
Ambrosia - s/t
Captain Beefheart - all his Reprise stuff
Fleetwood Mac - s/t, Tango In The Night
Prince - entire catalog!
and of course --
Red Hot Chili Peppers -- Bloodsugarsexmagik
Thank you WB, and everyone else involved, for this incredible vinyl reissue program.
my chemical romance - all
my chemical romance - all albums
the used - all albums
Box set session remasters
Mc5's Back In The USA could use a a proper remix/remaster like Iggy did with Raw Power. Undo Jon Landau's tinny/trebly sound. Plus use the multiple outtakes to create a box like Rhino did with its Stooges' Funhouse box.
Van Morrison's Astral Weeks has to be remastered, and there has to be enough outakes to create a great box showing an album being built ala Capitol's Pet Sounds box.
Tim Buckley Starsailor and Blue Afternoon haVE TO BE released/remaster with outtakes. Downloads are presently available on iTunes.
Screaming Blue Messiahs could use a box set reissue, everything out of print.
San Fran band LAMB could use a reissue/box set. Truly beautiful genre spanning stuff like an American Pentangle.
Fleetwood Mac - "Then Play On" (original UK version)
Please remaster and release Fleetwood Mac - "Then Play On" (the original 14-song UK version without the song "Oh Well").
As a bonus, add a 7" reproduction of the "Oh Well" single (Part 1 b/w Part 2), and another 7" reproduction of the single release of "The Green Manalishi" b/w "World In Harmony."
Little Criminals
Randy Newman - Little Criminals
I would the following remastered on vinyl
Alice Cooper: Love It To Death
Alice Cooper: Killer
Captain Beefheart: Clear Spot
John Cale: Paris 1919
Reissues 180 gram
* Flaming Lips - TRANSMISSIONS FROM THE SATELLITE HEART
* Flaming Lips - Hit To The Death in the Future Head
* The Cure - DISINTEGRATION (cd length version? - I would pay through the nose for this.) This clearly deserves a reissue.
The Top, Boy's Don't Cry, Wish, Japanese Whispers, Join The Dots( a pipe dream I realize, but I would be willing to pay the ridiculous price this would demand- maybe a highlights cut of the set) and anything else you have access to. My understanding is that Warner owns atlantic records which owns ELEKTRA.
* MY BLOODY VALENTINE - EPs - GLIDER, TREMOLO, You made me realize, Feed Me With Your Kiss
* The Jesus and Mary Chain - Darklands, Honey's Dead
The Smiths - Hatful of Hallow, Queen Is Dead, Meat is Murder
* Talking Heads - Fear of Music, 77, More Songs About Buildings, The Name of this Band Is Talking Heads
* Brian Eno - anything and everything
Echo and the Bunnymen - Heaven UP here, Porcupine
RIDE - Nowhere, plus Today forever EP (cd version tracklisting)
Violent Femmes - Hallowed Ground
Angelo Badalamenti - Soundtrack to Twin Peaks
Flaming Lips - Clouds Taste Metallic
The Modern Lovers - S/T (12 Track version)
Vinyl releases/reissues
Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne
Son Volt - Okemah
Reissue: Flaming Lips - Hit to Death in the Future Head,
please!!
Damien Rice
Neither of his albums, 0 or 9, have been pressed to vinyl. Would especially like to see the later in this format.
Suggestions for release
Off the top of my head...
The Saints - I'm Stranded
DMZ - DMZ
Plastic Bertrand - An 1
Pretenders - Pretenders
Brian Eno and David Byrne - My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
Aztec Camera - High Land Hard Rain
Everything But the Girl - Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Dream Syndicate - Days of Wine and Roses
Various Artists - Attack of the Killer Bs
Pearls Before Swine - The Use of Ashes
Cody
And don't forget the jazz.
Some great late-'50s, early-'60s jazz recordings on Warner Bros. are a natural for the Hoffman/Gray treatment: Chico Hamilton, Buddy Cole (especially "Powerhouse!"), Fred Katz, Marty Paich, and some great jazzy soundtracks.
