Metallica / Led Zeppelin / 7 inch singles

May 09, 2008

How about the heat on VINYL these days? Amazing that every day there is a story somewhere about records!!! Far out.
It was all the rage at the NARM this week in SF. That is a big retail convention and vinyl was on fire... The new SPIN has a story on it which features our own lovely Metallica reissues. Are you digging those? The reviews from fans has been over the top and caused us to bum a few folks out by not getting enough copies out. Who knew we would need 10,000+? Hey always order your records here and you won't have a problem finding it, and we are open 24 hours to rock your world.
Next up is Master Of Puppets. I have the 45 rpm test pressings and they are mind blowing... this is the record that started to explode the band and the sound is amazing... from analog master tape. Hoping for late June. Oh, and wait til you hear new music, all I can say is you will freak the f**k out, coming some time in the early fall... they are playing the Wiltern in LA this Wednesday night 5/14. It's a benefit for Flea's non profit music school, Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Tickets go on sale Sunday, get em' super fast. I forget how much but hey its a benefit...And Justice For All will be a 4 LP box set for the 45 rpm version. July.

Press checks were done by VinylHQ today on The Song Remains The Same box set. Basically that is triple checking to make sure when the box starts to actually print it all looks the way it is suppose to... super kick ass. The inner sleeves are so beautiful with unreleased photos on them. 100% lock date announced shortly... then right after comes Mothership... all glorious 180 gram vinyl pressed at R.T.I. Jimmy Page oversaw the mastering and the test pressings sound incredible on both!!!!

7 inch singles are alive and well at becausesoundmatters.com but I gotta get them up here for all you kids to buy. The week of Record Store Day we had the top 7 places at Indie retail with 7 inch singles. So cool!!! R.E.M., Built To Spill, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Disturbed, Against Me, Regina Spektor, and many more are all represented on 45. Even though many are "sold-out" I have some in the closet and will get them up for sale next week. Maybe a couple surprises too.

Speaking of 7 inch slabs, you should check out NortonRecords.com. They have a gigantic catalog of 7' bangers. I order records from their site all the time. 50's, 60's, 70's, current... as long as it rocks, swings, or sways, they got it.

More amazing news soon. More titles. We just gotta get them out, all the plants are maxed out.

Now Playing: test pressing of Foxboro Hot Tubs. Garage Punk from the Bay. Vinyl out by early June. Confirmed date soon.

Next Playing: test pressing of Everest. Laurel Canyon sound circa now....one of 2008's Best LPs so far. You Must Own!!!!

Over-n-Out...I gotta flip this platter!!!!
